This course includes the study of functions and their graphs.  The study includes polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions.  Emphasis is placed on solving equations and inequalities.  The graphic calculator is helpful in the course.  Students enrolled in ESL105 or MAT 115 concurrently with MAT131 must successfully complete that course in order to pass MAT131.  Prerequisites: Grade of "C" or better in MAT112, a math ACT score of 19, or an equivalent subscore on the SAT or COMPASS test.  Offered fall day and spring day.
